Established in 1991 by Stephen Hodson, Links Turf Layers (uk) work throughout Lincolnshire and nationally, specialising in grass seeding and turf laying services for natural sports surfaces.

During the 90’s we contracted work on many new build golf courses, locally at Grimsby, Waltham, Gainsborough, Lincoln, Louth, and Scunthorpe. Nationally we have travelled to Leeds, Doncaster, Wakefield, East Yorkshire, Northamptonshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and as far as Kent, Essex, Surrey and Jersey (Channel Islands).

In the following decade the focus of work moved toward sports pitches, sports fields and playing fields. We have constructed many new playing fields, football and rugby pitches for schools, prisons, local and County councils, Clubs and Associations. We now own and operate a modern and efficient range of specialist sports turf equipment to provide quality construction or renovation services wherever the work takes us and whatever the individual circumstances require.

Following an initial site survey, we always provide a detailed written schedule and specification to ensure a clear understanding of all aspects of the work, any options and all costs involved.

Construction work typically involves specialist soil preparation & levelling, Stone burying  cultivation, fertiliser application, precision grass seeding or turf laying. This is usually followed by initial maintenance to ensure a quality surface is handed over in ready to play condition.

Renovation work to improve poor quality or worn-out sports surfaces requires a tailor made package to resolve current problems. The old surface is usually removed, levelled, re-seeded or re-turfed using quality sports seeds mixures or sports turf. We will ensure the existing facility then achieves recognised performance criteria and client expectations within timescale and budget constraints.
